Having grown up in Alaska, Haans has a desire to be out in the wild in general and as he discovered using his vehicle to do that, his passion for overland exploring was born. After working on a fishing troller at sea for months on end in the kitchen Haans moved to Seattle and worked at another local overland shop for a bit where he was able to expand his interest in 12 volt wiring. You might say he is a bit of a guru in that regard.
Currently at MULE he helps with a variety of areas including sales, electrical consultations and electrical installs. In Haans words, "the best part of working at mule is always going to be the people - the people who work at mule and the people that have been coming to mule since day one. I also like the "dogversity " Haans spends his free time exploring the wild with his faithful K9 companion Duke (who is also "employed at MULE - you can meet Haans and at our Issaquah location) most days. When not at work they are often either roaming the back roads or up at a cozy yurt in the woods Haans built.
